Pool Transport’s deep-rooted connection to Worcester, its people, and the community has always been at the heart of its operations. The company firmly believes that business thrives within communities, not in isolation, and that true success extends beyond profit. The SAREL AND HETTIE POOL CHARITABLE TRUST (“Pool Family Trust”) was established as an independent charitable organisation by members of the Pool family in 2022, to honour our family’s legacy by reinvesting personal assets into the Breede Valley’s development. Establishing the Pool Trust as a separate entity not only supports the Pool Transport philosophy of giving back to the community, but also supports a conscious shift in the way we saw and approached sustainable community development in the Breede Valley.

The SN Pool Gemeenskapstigting (“the Foundation”) was established in 2016 as a Black-owned non-profit company with a 26% shareholding in Pool Transport. Its mission is to empower local NPOs by enhancing their effectiveness, ethical standards, and capacity to drive meaningful economic and social change. While the Sarel and Hettie Pool Charitable Trust (Pool Family Trust) and the Foundation operate independently, we share a common vision of a flourishing Breede Valley. By working together, we ensure every initiative we support has lasting impact, helping individuals and organisations build a stronger, more resilient future.

Yes. We are a registered Public Benefit Organisation (PBO) with the South African Revenue
Service (SARS) and are able to issue Section 18A tax-deductible receipts for qualifying donations.

Donors who meet the applicable requirements may use their Section 18A receipt to claim
a tax deduction for their contribution. Please contact us if you require a Section 18A receipt or would like further information about making a donation.
